It Take Money
Malibu jacuzzi black market uzi
Tailored suits and high class prostitutes
Livin in style with the world in my hand
Army of enforcers at my command
How can I live this way
In my life of crime
Drugs and girls a secret world
Without doing time
It take money
High in the tower corporate power
Tailored suits and high class prostitutes
Corporate drones to do my will
So many empty lives to fill
How can I live this way
I'm wracked with guilt
But see the empires I have built
Stocks and bonds I profit every day
Skid row hotel don't ask don't tell
Pushing crack by the highway overpass
Livin on the streets from night to night
Always on the edge and out of sight
How can I live this way
I'm indigent
But I am really poor as shit
Junk to sell I fear for every day
No More Guitars
Goin to the bar for a smoke and a beer
Try to chill out but what do I hear
It's dirty sandal hippy and he's playing a guitar
And he's singing about how sensitive all his friends are
But there's no groove
And that ain't right
Ruined my beer
For the rest of the night
No more guitars
Goin to the club to check out the ladies
Try to stay smooth but then what's the matter
It's long haired dudes all playing their guitars
And they're singing about how depressed all their friends are
But there's no soul
And that ain't right
There's no ladies
For the rest of the night
Goin to the bar I want to get drunk
Try to catch a buzz but then there's some punk
With ripped up leather and a cheap shit guitar
And he's singing about how violent his friends are
But there's no groove
And that ain't right
I'll still drink
For the rest of the night
Heavy on the horns and I'll tell you what works
It's all those pretty girls in their short skirts
Drop the back beat as hard as you can
And check out this funky ska band
The Ballad of Texahoma
On a dusty night as the sun come down
Rudy drove into a faraway southern town
A man with a mission who had journeyed far
He stepped inside the local corner bar
So they didn't see much strangers there
For a moment they all just stood and stared
Rudy saw a woman he once had known
She was at a table all alone
And the good ol boys are always right
And the good ol boys are chosen
To fight the righteous cause they fight
In the lonely desert town of Texahoma
Rudy asked her how she was and soon
They went back to her private room
Rudy thought it was according to plan
But she told him she'd got another man
But Rudy didn't dig that score
Went back to his car and got a forty five
Found the man who violated his girl
And sent him on to another world
The good ol boys soon they did know
Formed up a big ol posse to avenge that soul
Rudy faced them down with guns ablaze
To cure them of their wicked ways
Then a treacherous bullet into his side
The battle was not won
Rudy thought of his girl and then he died
His vengeance was undone
Carrie
The halls of my high school
Her rage is in the air
Can't hear or see her
But I can tell that she's there
Thought we could work it out
Thought I did what I should
But you're just angry
You're not misunderstood
Always the wrong time
We'd scream and fight
And I'd try and try
To get it right
And you would burn me
With your second sight
But I couldn't take you to the prom
That bloody Saturday night
Carrie
I'll never never know
You looked for me to be there
But I didn't want to go
You coulda been the one
Filled me with such desire
But when I looked back
I saw the school was on fire
The jocks and princesses
Standing off to the side
You feel their fear
But you're never satisfied
Fell in love with the devil's daughter
That wicked way
Led me on like a lamb to the slaughter
I couldn't stay
Tried on that ball and chain
But it drives a man insane
Can't do it all again
Congo Square
Just can't remember
Last night's affair
Talkin to a man with a plastic smile
Walkin with the girls in Congo Square
My mind was taken
By his evil stare
Took a lil goose of that voodoo juice
Trippin with the girls in Congo Square
The streets I wandered
I don't know where
Done for days in a voodoo haze
But I'd do it again
Pop's Video Arcade
Down on the corner
Of Hennepin and Fifth
Right across from Block E
There's a special place for droppin in
To virtual reality
All kinds of people
Congregate there
At that electronic shrine
To get in touch with that video rush
And they'll all feel just fine
And it's tucked between two strip clubs
But there ain't no sleaziness there
Just faces lit across the screen
And ozone in the air
Each life is simulated
There's no need to be afraid
Just drop (pull) another tokin
Pop's Video Arcade
Poster Child
You know you're such a beautiful girl
An original model of perfection
I wanted to take you for a whirl
And I can't handle your rejection
I've been led astray
You can't save me
I'm not the one without sin
I was born this way
You can't change me
See all the trouble I'm in
So take your shoes off for a while
Cause I'm not keepin up with no poster child
I know the evils that I have done
I'm not the one that you were wishin
And all I need is some of your love
And I'm not askin your permission
You got everything
That you wanted
But you don't got what you need
You bought everything
There for buyin
But I got something for free
Take your shoes off....
Shock Collar
It is forever it is now or never
Down the highway where you can't see the end
I've been chosen but I'm not the right one
I'm a man without my pride to defend
You start a battle that I just can't handle
You're a viper striking out from a stone
I've been wounded but that doesn't stop you
You're a secret I must enter alone
Your love is like a shock collar
You tie me down and you hold me back
Yeah your love is like a shock collar
Leavin me open to your attack
Your attack of love
My heart is taken and I've been forsaken
By the friends I had by my side
I've been wandering inside this illusion
And I couldn't escape if I tried
I look around me and the sight astounds me
It's a legion marching up to the fray
You're an angel refusing to guide me
And there is no hope of getting away
Slow Comfortable
Let's take it easy
Just set back here with you
And it don't matter
As long as it's slow and comfortable
It's only started
Just got to try my luck
But it ain't nothin
Unless you get it slow and comfortable
